Third Gen Restoration - The Rear End

The rear end is a 9-bolt that was pulled from an 88 Trans-Am.

The temporary rear end is removed to make way for the recently acquired 9-bolt 3.27 posi disc rear.

The cleanup begins on the new rear end.

Brake assemblies are complete and the rotors look like they just need turning.

Parts are marked before dis-assembly. This rear is from an 1988 Firebird, so it has the cast calipers rather than the PBR's.

Wearing a base coat of spray bomb Rustoleum Rust Reformer.

Hub and brake mounts are sprayed with Cast Gray.

The rest of the rear is painted with Semi-Gloss black high temperature paint.

The calipers are painted with red high temperature brake caliper paint.

The anodized parts are painted with brass color paint and then dusted with silver.
